The house is quiet and no one is awake yet. I quietly pour a cup of coffee, toast a piece of bread and walk down to our office. Yes, this time of day is precious to me. I love this quiet time to read God’s word and pray about it. This particular time of day I’m very grateful for. Because its from His word that I learn God’s character to be a woman who: loves her husband, her son, her family and her friends – to the ability that only God could provide knowledge, wisdom and strength for. I love morning time! A time to relax and prepare my heart for the day ahead.
The faithful love of the Lord never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
What is your favorite time of day? What is something you look forward to in each day that brings you joy?

The table is almost 4o years old and made by Ethan Allen. It has dents and scrapes and dings. It has watermarks and if you look closely it has teeny tiny writing from when I was a kid engraved in it. It’s the dining room table that has seen multiple Christmas dinners, shared many breakfasts and, “hard to get off” oatmeal from toddler hands. The dining room table is one of the most precious things in the house.
I’ve laughed there and cried there. I’ve even spilt milk! Prayers happen there daily. Love is shared there through conversations and sweet treats from the oven. Shoes are tied from sitting there. Smiles from sweet faces are seen there. There isn’t a fancy table decoration usually or even cushions on the chairs.
It’s made of pine, strong to last 40 years but soft to show life’s memories.
Yes, thats what my dinning room table is about. A place where anyone is welcome, a place where marks can be left because they will remember the best times.
I can’t express how grateful I am to my friends that I’ve shared meals with over this past week. (You know who you are.) You’ve totally blessed me! You remind me why the table is one of the best places in the house.
What is your favorite memory at the dining room table?

We have a beautiful little toddler who is full of life and energy. He is at that age where he loves getting into everything. Yesterday, I was emptying the dishwasher he managed to get a butter knife and decided to take off with it. I was in hot pursuit to get it away from him. He totally thought it was funny that I was chasing after him. I was able to get it away from him before he hurt himself.
Later in the day, I started writing this post and it made me think about how the Lord is in pursuit of us.
Since creation, God has longed for a relationship with us. Then very shortly after, sin enters the world and ever since God has had a plan to make it right again. Throughout the Old Testament we see the Israelites make mistakes over and over again. Even though there were consequences, God still pursued them! Then He sends Jesus to make the way for us to be in constant communication with Him. And lastly, He is coming back for His children to make everything perfect again.
The same is true for us as Christians, we make mistakes time and time again, and even though there are consequences, God still pursues us. He gives us unconditional love and grace.
I’m so grateful that we have a loving Father who pursues each and every one of us. I’m grateful for the friends, family and acquaintances He has placed in my life to help me see Him even better. I’m thankful for His word (the Bible) and that it can encourage me and guide me, that way I can love my family and friends the way Jesus did.
God is in pursuit of you too my friend. He’s right beside you every single day, call on Him no matter what. He loves us all no matter what we do.
Every good and perfect gift comes from Him.

Our little guy is in a new stage of toddlerhood. As he gets closer to the age of two, his new little personality shines through or should I say his little personality needs some polishing.
At first, I was discouraged about this new stage. I wont sugar coat it, toddlerhood isn’t easy. But after gaining wisdom from Gods word and Christian parenting books, I’ve learned that I have an opportunity each and every day to guide and train our son to be the best he can be (at any age).
I’m not in anyway a parenting expert but I will say that I had to change my attitude towards this little stage. I need to look at each day as an opportunity not a difficulty! If I want my son to patient, I need to be patient. If I want him talk quietly, I need to talk quietly. In order for me to guide and train my son in God’s ways, I have to be disciplined to God’s ways first!
Today, I’m grateful that everyday I have the opportunity to train and guide my precious gift. I’m grateful that this stage of parenting helps develop my character, it teaches me where God wants me to grow, it helps me show His love and grace towards my Little Buddy. This stage in particular is teaching me patience, kindness, goodness and self control, all characters qualities of love (Galatians 5:22-23).
Of course I’ll make mistakes, but thankfully by God’s grace He gives me a second chance to try again.
What are your favorite bible verses or parenting resources that help give you wisdom? I’m all ears for more wisdom!
These are some of my favorite books I’ve read this year.

Yep, that would be my air conditioner. It’s working on overdrive the past couple of weeks. Has it been hot where you live?! Well it has been pretty hot here too. I was watching The Weather Channel on Sunday night and it looks like the whole country is hot! Except San Diego looks pretty nice this time of year!
Well I have to say I’m super grateful this week that we have a working air conditioner. After a power outage a couple of weeks ago and not having it part of the day. I’m very grateful that it’s working so well to keep us cool.
I’m also grateful for the fact that my job (being a mommy) is indoors (most of the time). I know of a few people whose jobs are outside and right now in this crazy heat and I can’t even imagine being outside all day, but hope and pray that they are able to stay hydrated and not suffer from heat exhaustion!
Well for us we will be drinking plenty of water and making some popsicles this week to stay cool. Even a playdate at the pool is in order!
What are some ways you are staying cool this summer?

It’s only the second offical week of summer and I have to say I’m really enjoying it so far. The weeks are busy around our house but when the weekend arrives, the pace slows down a bit. One of my favorite thing about Saturdays lately is every weekend we get together with friends. I love it. It’s a joy to have our house full of people sharing about our week or things we want to do. I need to start getting more pictures of people instead of just the food, but food is always great to share too. Here’s how Saturday looked for us.
Before all of our friends came over, my husband, Little Buddy and I tried one of the activities on our summer list: water balloon target. Our son was quite fascinated with how the water got into the balloon but not as exited about throwing it at the target. He’s only 18 months, but it was still fun to try.
I planned a super easy dinner: a taco bar. We had shredded chicken and all the toppings for tacos you could think of.
For dessert I made the best cookie I’ve ever! My blogging friend Kim shared this on her blog last week and it looked so amazing I had to try it. It is by far my favorite cookie! One I will totally make it again. It was great with some vanilla ice cream.
Well, another great weekend with my two Loves and friends. I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend one that I’m very thankful for!
How was your weekend? What fun things did you do that you are thankful for?
