Gratituesday – Getting Together with Friends

It’s only the second offical week of summer and I have to say I’m really enjoying it so far.  The weeks are busy around our house but when the weekend arrives, the pace slows down a bit.  One of my favorite thing about Saturdays lately is every weekend we get together with friends.  I love it. It’s a joy to have our house full of people sharing about our week or things we want to do.  I need to start getting more pictures of people instead of just the food, but food is always great to share too.  Here’s how Saturday looked for us.

Before all of our friends came over, my husband, Little Buddy and I tried one of the activities on our summer list: water balloon target.  Our son was quite fascinated with how the water got into the balloon but not as exited about throwing it at the target.  He’s only 18 months, but it was still fun to try. :-)

I planned a super easy dinner: a taco bar.  We had shredded chicken and all the toppings for tacos you could think of.

For dessert I made the best cookie I’ve ever! My blogging friend Kim shared this on her blog last week and it looked so amazing I had to try it.  It is by far my favorite cookie! One I will totally make it again.  It was great with some vanilla ice cream.

Well, another great weekend with my two Loves and friends.  I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend one that I’m very thankful for!

How was your weekend?  What fun things did you do that you are thankful for?

  1. I love fun times with friends in the summer…. long days and sharing meals is so fun. I’m glad you tried and liked the skillet cookie. It was a huge hit in our house…. and I loved that there was no white sugar or flour.

    • We’ve really been making it a point to share meals with others often (lately once a week). It is such a joy! Thanks so much for sharing that awesome cookie. I really love the ingredients also!
