On the Menu for August 27, 2012
Remembering the recipes or traditions when we were children and then recapturing them as an adult always sends you back to where you were, “Once a upon a time.” I’ve been thinking a lot about that lately as I try some of my friends family traditions and recipes. My friend Kristan always had pasta on Sunday. My friend Beth had stuffed shells made by her grandma. And I can remember my mom always making chicken ranch enchiladas.
Savory meals and family traditions are ones I want my son to remember also. Even though he is little now, I hope in the future he can look back (just like I look back) and remember the great moments! So while I practice new recipes and develop a fun way to share meals at the table, I hope it encourages you too. Encouraging you to remember, as you prepare your meals for your family and invite them to the table to eat, these are memories you are creating. One day they will more then likely look back on these meals and be grateful for them! I know I am!
