Preparing Our Heart and Home for the Holidays – Light A Candle
Today we are continuing right along in our series as we prepare our heart and home for the holidays. Today’s task is very easy and enjoyable.
I follow the blog Women Living Well and this month Courtney is doing a Make Your Home a Haven Challenge for the month of November. It fits in perfect with my series this month. Each Monday I’ll post the same challenge she shares on her blog here. I hope you’ll join in too!
Here is the challenge from Women Living Well
Go buy an extra large candle and light a candle everyday in your home. I will be starting mine in the morning! But you can start yours at dinner time. Do what makes sense for your family. I will be placing mine in the kitchen – the main hub of my home. Each time the candle catches your eye, say a prayer for peace in your home.
A friend of mine bought me a a Yankee candle a couple weeks back so this morning when I got up I lit it and placed it on the stove. I’m also writing down the verse below to to focus on and learn to memorize this is week.
Proverbs 14:1 says: “The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.”
Okay friends, heres todays task:
- Buy or use a candle you already have and light it each day at the most convenient time for you and your family.
- Pray for your family and your home every time you see your candle.
- Write down a quote or verse that motivates you.
What is your favorite scent candle? What quote or bible verse would you love to focus on this week to make your home a haven.
If you’ve missed any of the posts in this series here are the first 3 days.
Stop back by tomorrow as we tackle Day 5 in this series.
