Usually this is a place which acts as study area, home theater, even dining space on occasions of festive gatherings.
Family room is the most used space in the house also this is the space which will depict the lifestyle & character of the owner hence while designing this space we should keep in mind that it reflects the taste & nature of the people living in the house.

2. Comfortable seating with provision of add on seating provision
3. Space to house handy things like remotes, magazines/ books, maybe some board games etc.
4. Ample natural light & ventilation
5. Dedicated space for entertainment unit if required
